The Benchwarmers Movie Story - Synopsis. In the comedy The Benchwarmers, Gus and his nerdy buddies, Richie and Clark form a three-man baseball team to challenge some baseball bullies. Their success leads to a high-stakes, winner-take-all game with the best kids in the state. If they win, they will become an inspiration for every kid who has ever been a benchwarmer. Mel is a local rich guy whose son Nelson is always being intimidated by the other kids. One day, Gus and Clark rescue Nelson from a bunch of young baseball bullies. When Max tells his father Mel, he makes Gus, Clark and Richie a proposition: He will put up the money for them to travel and play in a tournament against other baseballers as a way of helping his son and other outcasts like him to revenge against the bullies. It will be called “Mel's Tournament of Little Baseballers and Three Older Guys.” Starring: Rob Schneider, David Spade, Jon Heder, Jon Lovitz and Craig Kilborn. |
